In the spring of 2020 we all shared an experience of the pandemic. Personally I was in an apartment in Kuala Lumpur, and the months inside became a black and white art collection titled Contrasts.
The Contrast collection is very different from any thing that I have created, and so where the times and the circumstance for most of us in the spring of 2020.
“Sitting in an apartment on the 17th floor in a capital city looking down at empty streets, stirred up mixed emotions within. After just a few weeks you noticed how much further you could see, and how the green jungle was taking back ownership of the block.”
The worry of the city street empty from movement, and the happiness of watching the blue sky come back represent the mixed emotions described in the paintings of the contrast collection.
Contrasting pieces
You find the happy and light movement in energy, the sense of being controlled in on their high horses and self reflection in tuning in.
All the piece where painted with black ink on handmade paper.
The collection was presented in a virtual gallery and with an online exhibition.
